Test Call Generator System (TCS)

Intrusive test calls can emulate all possible telephone traffic situations. Inline Test Call Generator System provides all necessary data for long term planning of telecom network. It validates the least cost routing (LCR) quality in minutes. Unique functions such as voice channel recording and voice quality measurement to any destination. Inline Test Call System is a very powerful call generator for help desks, commercial and operations departments.

Manual test calls

Manual test calls can be made to equipments such as modem, fax and ISDN equipment, and to normal voice destinations. It is also possible to call Connect only or Alert only to reduce the cost of the test calling, the result will not provide the transmission quality in this case. The voice channel of the calls is stored and it is possible to listen to the voice channel of the call. The ISDN release codes and location code are presented on the screen if the test call fails. The calculated MOS Score of voice channel, SNR, RTD, PDD are presented on the screen when the test call is successful and depending on what the test call was made to. It is possible to make several test calls utilising several channels using several carriers. In these cases a summary report is presented on the screen when the test calls are completed.

Scheduled test calls

It is possible to use the phonebook of TCS to define a list of test numbers. A list of numbers is called a job. It is also possible to load jobs from external sources, such as MS Excel. The imported job lists do not need to contain test numbers but only destinations or market identifiers, TCS will locate test numbers to each destination or market identifier. This provides an efficient way to load LCR change lists. The job can be executed directly or scheduled at a specific date or time. It is also possible to define a schedule that is activated regularly, once a day ,every Monday, Wednesday and Friday or once a month to mention some examples. It is also possible define at what time the schedule should start or if it should be executed at an interval during the day, once every hour starting from 06:00 to 20:00 to mention an example. One or more reports can be attached to a schedule. TCS will in this case send an email report to one or more mail lists once the scheduled job is completed.

Report Generator

The results of the test calls are stored in TCS and can be retrieved with the built in report generator. The results are viewed on the screen of the WEB browser or automatically loaded into MS Excel. It is possible to define, modify, delete and copy reports. The report Generator has the normal set of functions of a report generator: pre-, post- prompt- selection, sorting ascending or descending in several levels, grouping and viewing of fields. Mathematic functions such as average, minimum, maximum and summary are available on the numeric fields.

Phonebook

The TCS phonebook contains test numbers. It is easy to add and remove test numbers in phonebook. TCS is shipped with a breakout structure that is ready to be used. It is also possible to load your own breakout table to match your switches breakout. The phone book can be viewed sorted by number range, geographic hierocracy or by country. The phonebook can be used to build test number lists (jobs) used by the schedule or for direct test calls.

Alerts

It is possible with TCS to send out alerts if the results of the test calls are meeting certain criteria. The alerts are sent by email to one or more users or systems. The alerting can be defined in such a way that only specific tests calls or schedules produce alerts. The alert is sent in the form of a report showing information of the tests that did not meet the criteria.

Routes

Each dialler is defined with a set of routes. These routes can be the same for several diallers. TCS support routing groups, providing a way to fast and simple add new diallers with maybe hundred of routes without the need to add each route to the new dialler. It is also possible to add, modify and remove routes from the router group affecting all the diallers using that router group simultaneous.

Information

It is possible view information on number ranges and countries from several positions in the TCS system. The info button shows a regional map of the destination you are testing, the language, time zone and a written description of its location on the globe. TCS has a built in user manual that gives the user to have help instructions available throughout the system. All release codes viewed in reports or direct on the screen on manual calls are linked to a description. The description explains the release code to the user to provide an understanding of the problem.

Security

It is possible to control the access rights of all entities of TCS. Each user is a member of a user group, each user group has rights to different entities such as diallers, rotes, phonebook, reports, mail lists and schedules. It is possible to have several groups working on the same TCS system without access to each other's resources.
